Not wishing to Hijack Diest's thread I wanted to ask the above question to those who were affected. The criminal record you received is terrible in itself, but I wanted to ask if it has affected whether or not you could get a passport. - Leslie-

Were You Punished by Your Government for Not Being a Part of Military Service?
by Diest ini never cease to be amazed by the sacrifice that the wts foolishly requires.
one of the larger sacrifices is that of personal freedom that has been demanded of young men and women around the globe.
many are sent to prison for several years and have a felony on their record for life.

I remember hearing about the young brothers during the Vietnam War. (I'm Canadian) Until you hear the real story from those affected you have no idea what it was REALLY like and how it affected your life long after the fact. We were never told the outcome and the real consequences. I had no idea that you were instructed to say that this was your own idea. It makes me sad that you all had to go through this for nothing and get stuck with a criminal record. Terry, that is just terrible. Jehovah obviously wasn't helping anyone. I hate this Cult and it's leaders for all the lives they have ruined.-Leslie-

ICSA Conference Listening to the Still Small Voice
by Lady Lee inthis was one of the last presentations i took in.
very powerful stuff.. icsa 2012 conference listening to the still small voice: reclaiming the self after leaving religious totalistic groups.
most people go through a stage in late adolescence or early adulthood where they ask this question of themselves.

People are so much more interesting when they're not forced into being carbon copies of someone elses ideal. There were a lot of people in my hall that were visibly unhappy, depressed and on medication to cope with it all. I have pity for them now and hope more wake up and 'find' themselves.

Thank you for sharing this Lady Lee. When I first left the cult I cried a lot because I felt completely lost. Here I was 48 yrs old and didn't know myself. It was pretty scary. I had no idea who I was as an individual. I wasn't even sure of what I liked or disliked in myself and others. Gradually through sitting and listening to the small voice the real person came out. For the first time in my life I finally know who I am and it's a great feeling.I'm now 57 and I wouldn't trade the new me for a younger cult-controlled me. -Leslie-

Heading soccer balls, wearing designer clothes, and driving hybrid vehicles - all condemned in the latest Awake
by cedars infor those who are interested, the november 2012 awake!
is now available for download online.. among items of possible interest are some of the latest examples of fear-mongering "armageddon art" on pages 12 and 14.... .
speaking of armageddon, you will be sad to hear that the criteria for surviving the great day of god's wrath just got a little more stringent.. there are a number of extra things in this month's awake!

Thx again Cedars. The messages they send are very subtle by passing them off as news. The first one about heading the ball will likely have parents fearing damage to their kids if they participate in sports. We were always cautioned about doing any activity that may result in injury or death because it showed a lack of appreciation for life. Jehovah doesn't like that you know. lol
That second picture is insulting to women. For one thing look at the disproportionate size of their mouths when compared to the rest of their heads. Plus men also wear designer clothes. Typical Watchtower stereotyping.
The last one made me laugh. Oh the evil Hybrid. Wouldn't want to incur bloodguilt by accidently hitting someone. I think they just don't want you driving such a small car. I mean, how many Dubs could you shoe horn into it for service.

To Any Jehovah's Witness Reading This---Please Think About Getting Out!
by minimus ini sympathize with you.
you may feel there's no where to go.
you might worry that you could lose all your friends and family.. you might believe it's better than the other religions and you should just "wait" on jehovah/the organization.. you might have doubts but you might feel a spiritual connection.. all i can suggest to you is to please think about your life.

That's FANTASTIC One Day. Thanks so much for sharing that experience. It gives those of us with family still in hope that they too will see the futility of it all.

Granny Smith for baking
Gala or MacIntosh for eating (only like Macs when they're fresh in the fall)

Always makes me think of Matt. 23:25 "You blind guides who strain out the gnat and gulp down the camel"
Yup, they're no different from the Pharisees!
